Great powerpoint for students creating decorative art journals or art sketch books. Includes aims & objectives, a quiz on famous book characters with answers (which can be printed out and given out or done as a whole class with students putting their hands up) My students love to do it in pairs with a chocolate treat for the most correct answers. . All based on the brilliant art journal artist Teesha Moore, with 5 step by step videos on how to build up beautifully collaged pages. Includes portrait and artist studio photos (you could add a simple bio form her webpage or set it as extension task) Full of great images and layout. Includes a check list of what makes a great Moore collage and how to create your own character (or illustration for a book or text etc) Has a reflection slide which could be used to annotate the work. A homework or extension task and finishes with what would be the follow up lesson to the journal project.
The presentation is for year 7-9 students but it could suit old students or even make an excellent college project. For younger children I add a box of relevant magazine cuttings, cut outs, interesting papers and collage materials, sometimes pre painted backgrounds. When using for older children I ask them to bring in the items required.
If you like the resource please leave me a comment and maybe tell me how you adapted to suit your class.
Thank you
